Dr. Max grew up in South Africa playing rugby and water polo. When he was 23, he moved to London, England and this is where he received his first chiropractic adjustment for a painful low back. After a few treatments, he noticed that the pain was gone, and that he felt his posture had begun to improve. Through the continuation of care, Dr. Max’s allergies had started to improve and were hardly bothering him anymore. This alone was a tremendous help – as anyone who suffers from seasonal allergies will tell you! Dr. Max started to realize the far-reaching health benefits of chiropractic and how it helped him.
After a little research and some planning, Dr. Max was leaving south west London, and headed to the United States to begin this crazy journey into the studies of Chiropractic. His studies brought him to Denver, Colorado where he met his beautiful wife (and office manager!) Candace. They then went down South to Georgia for 4 years to complete his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree at the largest chiropractic school in the world – Life University. In 2014 Stella joined the clan, and it was around this time that the ideas for Pure Chiropractic started sprouting. In 2015 we headed north to Grand Rapids, MI to go learn from some of the best Doctors in our great profession. Finally, in 2017 our journey has come full circle back to Colorado where we are blessed to be serving the Littleton, Ken Caryl & Columbine Communities.
Candace is a Colorado girl – raised in Park Hill in Denver! As kids Candace and her twin sister were the stars of the local soccer team which their dad coached. She attended East High School, and moved onto CU Boulder to major in Psychology. Throughout her life she had experienced general back pain and abdominal pain after meals. It wasn’t a big deal at first, but the pain gradually got worse. She met Dr. Max at around this time, and of course he immediately took her into see his chiropractor at the time. She was skeptical at first, but she saw results after some time, and is extremely grateful that she stuck with it! She has now switched chiropractors, but still enjoys the many benefits of chiropractic care. She is our office manager and is responsible for pretty much anything that goes down in the office.
